Today’s inconvenience: I have to wait for my TV to update before I can watch anything. What problems are being experience by everyone else now that we live in the future?

You know how the internet bitched when the phased out the aux jack on phones? Like they couldn’t listed to music and charge their phone?
Just wait until they move to a universal port on sex bots.

Ha! I had to open the perm a link to this comment in a new tab, and then reply there because click reply in the main thread just takes me to the top of the article.
Also Chrome spellcheck: Doesn’t know all sorts of fairly basic words, but is totally cool with “ permalink” apparently.

I've been unable to reply to comments on chrome.for a few weeks now. It's really quite annoying.

My new phone has a headphone jack, but I would have preferred they wedged in a bit more battery or something. Aside from the noise cancelling ones I use on planes, all my headphones are wireless these days, and a dongle would have been fine. I’m actually yet to plug anything into it (I charge it wirelessly).

Both my phones (iPhone 7 and Pixel 3) have no headphone jacks. Can’t say I’ve ever been bothered by it

As I say, for me clicking on the permalink *mostly* works, though sometimes I hop over to Edge instead.
I don’t know that it’s actually kinja’s fault, it could be adblocker related, but the fact it works on the permalink suggests that something is at least partially broken in kinjaland.

I lost my Apple watch in the lake over the 4th of July. Since then I’ve been wearing my Hamilton field watch, which is a manual wind. Such a huge improvement over having to wait to recharge

Hah.
Not only do I need to wait for my TV to update, it's refusing to do so automatically so now I need to download the firmware and do the update manually.

Half the internet doesn’t work for me because site developers aren’t interested in the 0.01% of 1stWorld punters who get their internet via satellite. Therefore, sites that aren’t coded to put up with latency figures in the hundreds all go a little bit...wrong.
Also getting Netflix to work requires a day or more forward planning to manage the bandwidth constraints. The upside is that we watch a lot less TV these days and we still use a CRT TV from 2003.

I spent a week in the countryside with DSL 128k internet and little to no cellphone reception.
I don’t think I can live in the countryside.
Nice to visit though.

Our washing machine broke last week. The noise, vibration, and harshness sensor broke due to too much vibration.

Great accessability to college to low income families and women has increased competition for a decreasing number of jobs due to automation, pushing down wages and making getting starting experience difficult.

My old phone worked fine running BlueTooth audio to my car’s head unit, my new phone plays static. My BT headset works fine on my new and old phones and personal laptops , but would hard-lock Windows on my last work laptop.

I need to buy a new Apple laptop that can hold all of my music and photographs, but that is impossible because everything uses solid-state drives and The Cloud .
